Position Description 

The Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) division seeks non-tenure-track adjunct faculty to teach courses within the Environmental Sciences & Policy program. The modality of this course is an in-person/online course at the Washington DC campus with potential to offer multiple sections and semesters, depending on enrollment and program needs. The instructor will be required to maintain a Canvas site for course resources.? Of particular interest are candidates who have experience teaching and engaging students from diverse backgrounds.

The Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) is a division of the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University (JHU).? Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • A Master's degree in a relevant field. 
  • Professional and/or scholarly experience. 
  • One year of college-level teaching experience.  

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • A Ph.D., J.D., or other terminal degree in a relevant field 
  • The background to teach a wide variety of courses relevant to environmental sciences 
  • 3-5 years of teaching higher education courses.

Salary Range

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
