General Description

The Peabody Preparatory is pleased to announce an adjunct jazz guitar instructor position in the Guitar Department at the Peabody Preparatory. The successful candidate will join a highly skilled and dedicated guitar faculty as part of a vibrant and active department committed to helping all students achieve their potential; we embrace the novice musician as well as the serious student aspiring toward a career in music.

 

Responsibilities:

-      Teach jazz guitar in private and group settings, catering to students from beginner to advanced levels. Our downtown campus is the primary location, with potential for expansion to other campuses.

-      Collaborate with the department on student performances, faculty meetings, and potential substitute teaching assignments.

-      Contribute to the department's artistic life by performing with other jazz faculty members (as scheduled).

-      Actively participate in departmental initiatives including performances, festivals, and teaching projects.

Qualifications

Education requirements:

-      Bachelor's degree in music or music education (or equivalent experience) is required.

-      Master's degree or equivalent experience and training in jazz guitar is a plus.

 

Qualifications: ?

-       Strong experience as an instructor of jazz guitar.

-       Excellent communication and organizational skills.

-       Demonstrated professional performance experience in jazz.

-       Prior experience leading or directing jazz ensembles is a plus.

-       Familiarity with recording and remote teaching technology (DAWs, Zoom, etc.) is preferred.
