General Description

The Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering, Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) invite applications for tenured or tenure-track faculty positions in the area of Epigenomics. Outstanding candidates at all academic ranks will be considered. They will also be encouraged to collaborate with existing university-wide initiatives.

Epigenomics

We seek candidates whose research focuses on the development and application of cutting-edge epigenomic technologies, including but not limited to DNA methylation profiling, histone modification mapping, chromatin accessibility assays, nuclear organization, and single-cell epigenomic techniques. We welcome candidates employing either experimental, computational, or integrated approaches, particularly those whose work advances our understanding of gene regulation, cellular differentiation, and disease mechanisms by integrating genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish an independent, internationally recognized research program that leverages epigenomic insights to address fundamental questions in biology, with applications to human health, disease diagnosis, and personalized medicine.

This cluster hire initiative is part of the Bloomberg Distinguished Professor Epigenomics cluster.

The expected salary range for these positions is: Assistant Professors $150k-$200k, Associate Professors $180k-$245k, Full Professors $220k-$500k, for 12-month FTE. The referenced salary range is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will be based on factors including, but not limited to, the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate - e.g., years in rank, training, field, discipline, other work experience, and other similar factors; geographic location; internal equity; external market conditions; and other factors as reasonably determined by the University.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Genomics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields, and will be expected to establish a strong, independent, multidisciplinary, and internationally recognized research program. Commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels is required.

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
